In order to provide a number of refugees with the opportunity to participate in the Odysseus Summer School and gain knowledge in EU immigration and asylum law and continue their studies which may have been interrupted due to forced departure from their home countries, we have once again launched a crowfunding campaign to cover all their participation expenses.

We need your help to continue to offer refugees a chance to participate in our Summer School. We hope to achieve ten scholarships entirely financed by the public. This would amount to approximately €10,000, and would cover the cost of transportation, daily expenses in Brussels, and tuition fees. Please help us respond in this way through contributions to our crowdfunding campaign.

A brochure introducing last year’s beneficiaries can be found under the name Refugee Voices.

We have the pleasure to announce the opening lecture by our Swiss colleague Vincent Chetail (Director of the Global Migration Centre at the Graduate Institute Geneva) on 'The External Dimensions of the EU Migration and Asylum Policy: Towards a New Turn in the Migration-Development Nexus?'.

The Odysseus Summer School includes a trip to Schengen (Luxembourg) where we will have a guided tour of the European Museum housing a permanent exhibition about the Schengen Area and cooperation. Our guide will be Mr Charles Elsen, Honorary Director General at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, who is one of the fathers of Schengen!

An evening cocktail with professionals from EU Institutions (European Parliament, Commission and Council), International Organisations (UNHCR, IOM, ICMPD, etc.), NGOs (ECRE, JRS-Europe, etc.), think tanks (MPG, CEPS, MPI, etc.) as well as consultancy companies, etc will be organised in order to give participants of our Summer School the opportunity to make professional contacts that could help them find a traineeship or a job.
The Odysseus Academic Network is happy to announce the launch of a set of catalogues aimed at providing information on publications, events and ongoing research in the area of immigration and asylum law and policy in the EU and its Member States. The catalogues are set to become an indispensable tool for everyone interested in the field and keen to stay up to date on latest developments.

The two first catalogues include publications and events. Anyone can submit a publication or event that will very quickly appear online and also use our search engine. This is an easy and fast way to promote your publications and events by reaching the specialised audience you are looking for!

More information on these two catalogues and future catalogues on research projects can be found here.
